Visiting the Library
Currently use of the Media Center is restricted to library personnel. Virtual Academy and Remote students may access books through curbside circulation and pickup. Students without access to pickup times may contact Ms. Kodack through dojo or email [email protected] for alternative book access. Students in the building may request books through Destiny to be delivered to their classrooms.
We will update this site when Curbside Pick up resumes.
Students at Wildwood Forest Elementary visit the library each week with their class as part of the specials rotation. In each 45 minute library class, students learn Information Literacy and Research skills, develop a love of reading, and participate in lessons that address the North Carolina Information and Technology Skills Essential Standards. Students will also have the opportunity to check out books during each library lesson.
Students are also encouraged to visit the library at any time throughout the school day to independently check out books. Teacher permission is required.
Parents are always welcome in our library as well! If you would like to stop in and check out books for your children please feel free to do so. If you would like to volunteer in the library please email Ms. Kodack at [email protected]. We always greatly appreciate your help!

Updated Covid LIbrary Circulation Policy
All books are due 3 weeks from the date of check-out. Students can bring books to the media center to be renewed. We do not assess fines for late books. However, we do ask that families pay for any lost or damaged materials. |
Library Book Care
Follow these book care tips to keep library materials in good condition:
- Always carry your library books in a book bag to protect them from weather. We recommend carrying them in a plastic grocery bag inside the book bag to protect them from accidental spills by water bottles and lunches. Library books must stay dry at all times. Wet books mold, and mold can spread to other books on the shelves. Yuck!
- Keep books in a safe location at home. Choose a table, shelf, or other area to consistently keep library books so that you will know right where they are. Choose a spot where books will be protected from pets and younger siblings. Ms. Kodack recommends keeping library books in your backpack--then you always have them with you if you need to read them in class or return them to the library!
- Use a bookmark! If you need one, design your own out of a piece of scrap paper!
- If you damage a book, return it to the library immediately. Ms. Kodack can often repair it and make it good as new!
